From the easy check- in & check- out this property was perfect for us. It had everything we needed to cook at home and also within walking distance to Cockermouth town centre (10 mins).

It was lovely & quiet. We have 2 children so the playground, park & football pitch opposite was perfect. The beautiful walks by the river where the children could paddle/splash in their wellies was a hit too. The apartment is so homely & tastefully decorated. It comes equipped with absolutely everything you could need to enjoy a lovely break in the Lakes.

We would highly recommend the Caretakers Cottage for a stay of any duration. We booked for a month and the apartment was perfect. Very clean and tastefully decorated with everything provided for an extremely comfortable stay. The apartment is in a quiet area of Cockermouth but just a few minutes from town on the well-lit walking path. Great location for access to the lake district without the crowds. We will definitely be back.

Caretakers Cottage certainly took care of all needs as a family and we could not have been happier with the accommodation, it was perfect for us in every way. It is definitely somewhere we would stay again. We were so lucky to have stayed here, a perfect place in a perfect location...the perfect retreat after climbing some of the Lake District fells. Location was perfect for accessing walks of all levels. Love that it was only a short walk into Cockermouth centre where there was a good choice of supermarkets and places to eat. The apartment was spotlessly clean and super comfortable with everything you'd need in a home from home. Communication from Clare was clear and timely. We would not hesitate recommend and can't wait to return !

Brilliant! We stayed at Caretakers Cottage for just over 3 weeks. The apartment is part of a converted school set in a quiet and leafy neighbourhood a few minutes' walk from the shops. A tiled lobby for boots and coats leads to stairs up to large comfortable rooms with a well-equipped kitchen. The owner lives locally which was great as she so kindly sent us recommendations of local events which we would not have heard about otherwise, recommendations for hairdresser and garage and made sure we had clean bed linen and towels every week. There are some fantastic walks a short drive away and some nearby Park runs, as well as Keswick on one side and the seaside towns on the other. This was a fantastic place to stay, and we would highly recommend it.

Brilliant place to stay. Beds are comfortable, furnishings are comfortable, all appliances are great. We dont have a bath at home so that was a plus along with the separate shower for myself. Brilliant location near to lots of different restaurants to eat or you can travel further a field if needed. The guest book has many great ideas in it if you are stuck.

On arrival access to the property went very smoothly and it was immediately apparent that the apartment has been beautifully maintained. It matched all the photos online and did not disappoint. Tastefully decorated and furnished, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. No complaints at all, would happily stay again.

Lovely Place. Lots of space. Very clean and well equipped. Having shower and bath was super. Well positioned to town - between 10 and 15 minute walk. Electric charger for the car was a bonus. Really enjoyed our stay.
