The property dates from the early 19th century when it was the dairyman's cottage, the farm ran a Jersey herd and supplied creamy milk to Grasmere.

It was thought originally to have been an inn standing amid a small cluster of old farm buildings which have been variously adapted over the years into several homes.

Hollens Farm Cottage has been lovingly restored and is the perfect base for a Lake District holiday. There an abundance of delightful walks straight from the doorstep for the novice walker to the experienced climber. There is also a regular bus service which runs from the village to take you south to Windermere or north to Keswick.
